Elementary schools are closed for the summer. Slade's main office is scheduled to re-open on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. The first day of school is Monday, August 26, 2024. School Start and End Times:
The first bell will ring at 7:59 am to let students into the building. The tardy bell will ring at 8:02 am.
No students may be on campus before 7:45 am. The end of the school day is 3:00 pm for all students. A huge thank you ahead of time for being on time for drop-off and pick-up times.

Starting Monday, January 8, 2024, the morning bell schedule will be adjusted so that classrooms can start learning on time. The expectation is that students are on campus prior to 8:00 am so they can line up with their class to enter the building. The first bell will now ring at 7:59 am for students to line up. The tardy bell will ring at 8:02 am. If you arrive on campus after 8:02 am, please bring your child to the front office.
Temperature:
Slade triangulates the ACSD1 Weather Stations at 804 Skyline Road, Indian Paintbrush School, and Linford School to determine the temperature at Slade. The Weather Stations are located here.
We hold recess inside if temperatures are below zero degrees Fahrenheit with wind chill. Above zero with wind chill and we will hold recess outside.
**Please note that most weather apps use weather information from the Laramie Airport. Conditions at the airport are frequently different than in town. Using the three Weather Station gives a more accurate view of conditions at Slade.
Air Quality:
We use www.purpleair.com and the sensor closest to Slade at War Memorial Stadium. We will hold recess inside if AQI readings are 150 or above.
